Camping Bijela Uvala

Date of visit : June 2006

Located about 5Km south of Porec, Bijela Uvala and the adjacent site which belongs to the same owners, form a huge joint coastal village complex. Bijela Uvala is the quieter of the two. The site roads are tarmac and there is a wide variety of pitches, there being open grass areas, terraces and pine wooded areas. Pitches are marked, mostly level and adequate in size. From a fairly level plateau near reception the site slopes down to the sea quite steeply in places. The most popular pitches are, of course, on the terraces overlooking the sea. There are full facilities, including swimming pools, a medical centre and a marina. Areas of the sea frontage are set aside for boating and swimming including a naturist's area which is not screened off! A pathway, which is fairly wheelchair friendly, runs the full length of the frontage of both sites and can provide a very pleasant evening stroll. It is a good place to linger and watch the sun go down either in one of the open air cafes or sitting on one of the benches on the route.

Toilet facilities for disabled : This is a very large site and we chose a grass hedged pitch in a level area close by toilet facilities for the disabled. Even so, it was still an uphill push to the toilet block. Unfortunately I did not make any notes of the facilities but we recall no problems.

Room size : Adequate

Toilet Height : Not taken
