Camping FlamDate of visit : July 2004
This well maintained quality terraced site is located on the side of a mountain overlooking a river, Flam
railway station and the harbour. Tarmac site roads lead to a gently sloping front area and level grass terraces. The terraced pitches
occupy the steepest part of the site and most have fine views. The toilet block is of a high standard and equipped
with disabled facilities which for a wheelchair bound person are best accessed from the pitches on the lower area of the site.
Flam is a major tourist centre and there are a good range of tourist shops and cafes including a small supermarket a short level walk away.
This is an excellent touring base.
Toilet facilities for disabled : These are located in the main block and the very large room also doubles as storage and boiler room.
It is therefore kept locked at all times and the key must be retrieved and returned to reception at each visit. Nevertheless the facilities are good with
wheel in hand shower and free standing chair. There is no charge for hot water. There is also a good wash basin and mirror all at a good height.
Entrance width : No problem once the toilet block is reached
Room size : Very large
Toilet Height : 45cms with folding handrails one of which can be utilised whilst using the shower.
