‘Great Adventures’ Great Barrier Reef Day Trip, ramp and single step onto high speed catamaran. Disabled toilets on board double as dive crew changing area.Steep ramp onto dive platform, crew will help. Bodily lift required down three steps to snorkelling platform. Undersea viewing gallery and glass bottomed boat ride have difficult access requiring bodily lift down narrow flights of steps. Forget the viewing gallery and boat ride, but don’t miss the snorkelling.
Kuranda day trip, coach to Freshwater station, taxi would be better as bodily lift required onto coach. 90 minute Mountain train ride to Karunda is fully accessible.Wheelchair lift used to board and alight from train. Steep hill from Karunda station into town, courtesy bus available but not wheelchair friendly. Town centre accessible. Return via ‘Sky Rail’ a rain forest cableway fully accessible to standard wheelchair users which departs from next to the rail station. Staff check width of wheelchair (there is a limit) and insist on loading and unloading wheelchairs. It is possible to alight at Baron Falls and you must change cable cars at Red Peak summit station. Accessible forest board walk available here with ranger 20 minute guided tour. At the bottom of the ride is the not to be missed Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Centre, fully accessible. Brisbane Skyline

Brisbane  5 nights

Queensland Culture centre and Museum both fully accessible
Maritime Museum, accessible except for warship
South Bank Parklands and riverside walks, fully accessible
River Trips, we took a lunch time cruise on the River Queen, a large paddle wheel boat. Access to the boat was via a ramp. The lower deck cabin is accessible over a large sill and help was keenly offered by the crew. We were advised they had just been given permission to remove the sill which should make access very easy.
Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is some 20Km up river. We went there and back by boat but cannot really recommend this. The Brisbane pier is fully accessible, that of the Sanctuary is not. The state of the tide can make boat access very difficult. The boarding ramp was not wide enough for the wheelchair and access from the pier to the Sanctuary is up the bank via flights of steps. Take a taxi. The Sanctuary itself has a few single steps, but there are alternative paths around these. A disabled toilet is available.

Sydney Museum, fully accessible, disabled toilets available
Sydney Tower, fully accessible, the buffet restaurant has two levels, ramps are available on exiting the lift to access the upper level.
Paddy’s Market, fully accessible
Manly Beach, we went there and back for the day without any difficulty via ferry from Circular Quay.
Bondi Beach, we went there and back for the day by bus. The only difficulty was waiting for a wheelchair friendly one to come along.
Watsons Bay, we went there by bus and caught a ferry back. The Watsons Bay pier is stepped
